Bali Bucket List: Eight Incredible Experiences
Indonesia | Bali. A destination millions all over the world desire to visit. Here are eight must-do experiences on this incredible island….
What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.”
The Buddha
Asia. The scents, the food, the hustle ‘n’ bustle. The magic. I vividly remember landing in Bangkok on my first visit to the continent and thinking, “what on earth is this place? It’s crazy”. Needless to say, I was instantly hooked.
Nothing compares to the wafting smells of frankincense and street food as you wander down the chaotic Khao San Road, browsing the colourful fabrics and other weird and wonderful souvenirs. Travellers congregate in bars to share their adventures and plot their next steps, as street vendors trawl by their tables selling local delicacies. Then there’s the islands. Those little plots of paradise protruding from the Gulf of Thailand, offering sun, sand, relaxation and plenty of parties.
Or venture to Indonesia and the “Island of the Gods” – Bali. A surfers paradise and a yogi’s utopia, it’s no wonder why the isle is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. From the commercial, party-centric district in Kuta to the traditional village of Ubud, there is something for everyone. I have fond memories of the night-climb of Mount Batur for sunrise and white-water rafting on the Ayung River as it wound through the dense jungle.
Asia remains a continent that I wish to explore further. I have ambitions to visit the likes of Vietnam, Cambodia and the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. China is also a must-do in order to see the Great Wall, but it’s India where my attentions truly lie. I think that would be an incredible adventure.
